No Children under the age of 6 years will be allowed on the range.Completion of the project will occur during third phase with the addition of a restaurant. The club house will include a retail store, classrooms and offices. The second phase of the project will include the construction of five (5) skeet & trap ranges and a club house. Three (3) ranges will be designated for rifles with distances between 100-600 yards. Shooters will check/set and retrieve targets. During phase one (1), seven (7) shooting ranges are being constructed with more than ninety (90) shooting stations and two (2) additional ranges with thirty (30) firing points extending 50 yards – designed for pistols. The Range Complex is a three (3) phase project. Shooters using the range will not have to enter Fort Carson to use the range.
The entrance is located just outside Fort Carson’s Gate 20 security perimeter. The 400 acre site sits on Army land near Interstate 25 just off mile marker 132. Army, El Paso County, the El Paso County Sheriff and the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife. The Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex is a joint project between the U.S. Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center.
